In the Fall of 2010, 23 activists in Chicago and Minneapolis were raided by the FBI and called in front of a Grand Jury with regard to information they might have about “material support for terrorism”. All of the activists have refused to appear before the Grand Jury and none of them have been charged with any crimes.

On Friday, April 8th, 2011 two of the women who are refusing to participate in the Grand Jury process will be in Washington D.C. to give updates on their situation, including:

  • detailed background on their case
  • why the activists are being investigated
  • why they are refusing to cooperate with the Grand Jury, and
  • how the activist community can provide support

Please join us at the afternoon event or the evening event with these activists:

One Response to Update on the FBI Raids on Midwest Activists

  1. I’ve published some information about these raids on my personal blog:
The September 24 FBI ‘material support’ raids.

I ‘ve also set up a page with video of a forum held by my friends Sue, Kit, Ann and others about these raids; the page also links to supporting resources (esp. about Holder v. Humanitarian Law Project and the grand jury process):
    11/6/10 forum videos.
